NYANTAKYI STILL HOPEFUL
Fifa Executive Council Member, Member of FIFA Associations Committee, first Vice President of CAF, President WAFU zone B and the President of GFA Lawyer Kwesi Nyantakyi is hopeful Ghana can qualify for the 2018 Russia world cup.
The man who under his administration qualified Ghana to its first ever world cup in 2006, followed by 2010 and the almighty 2014 world cups still have the believe that, Ghana has a chance of qualifying but the chance is very slim.
In his first interview after yesterdays game against Congo which ended in one goal appeal to both sides, Lawyer Nyantakyi apologized to all Ghanaians for the team not winning the game and also express his view that, Ghana can qualified but the chance is very slim. He made this pronouncement when he came to the official lunch of the National Sports Festival at Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
"Well I can't rule Ghana out completely. We have a slim chance, but realistically our chances deminished right after the match because we failed to take advantage of the opportunities and secured the 3 points. But we still have to take part and see what awaits us, but our destiny is definitely not in our hands".
" Is very unfortunate, let me apologized for the teams performance and asked Ghanaians not to abandon or neglect the team. Let's keep praying for the team till the end of the competency and see what ultimately will come out at the final standing ", he added.
Ghanaians therefore should kindly rally behind the team in the 3 matches left for the team to qualified for Russia 2018.
