HOPE VIRTUAL CONCERT COMES OFF

The Christian Network Alliance Ghana, is organising a virtual concert, dubbed Hope Concert with some of Ghana’s biggest gospel artistes. The event set to take place on Friday, May 1, is aimed at raising people’s spirits amid the coronavirus pandemic while educating them. It will feature performances from Joe Mettle, Ohemaa Mercy, Efe Grace, MOG, Daughters of Glorious Jesus, Kofi Sarpong, Nacee and many others. The Secretary-General of the Trades Union Congress, Dr. Anthony Yaw Baah, says the decision taken by the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to lift the 3-week partial lockdown of Accra, Kumasi, Tema and Kasoa was the right one Thanking President Akufo-Addo for “the excellent leadership you have provided us to save us from the horrible situation we are witnessing in other countries, particularly Europe and the US”, the TUC boss stated that “the restrictions on movement have yielded some positive results, and we are all witnesses to this.” Dr. Anthony Yaw Baah added that “Yesterday, you eased some of these restrictions and emphasized that some of these restrictions must be complied with strictly. Ghana's Covid-19 Positive cases has reached 1042 with 99 Recovery cases, and 9 Deaths as been annouced by the President. Total tested cases stands at 68,591 and Negative cases is 67,549 as at Sunday 19th April 2020.

BILL GATES CALLS TRUMP’s FREEZE ON W.H.O. FUNDING DANGEROUS

Bill Gates joined the chorus of people expressing shock and disappointment in President Trump’s announcement on Tuesday that he would freeze U.S. funding for the World Health Organization. In a tweet about the matter, Gates said halting funding for W.H.O.  during a world health crisis “is as dangerous as it sounds” and that no other organization can replace the work of the W.H.O. PASTOR, 2 ASSISTANTS JAILED 4 YEARS EACH.

A Pastor and his two Assistant of Church of Pure Christ in Volta Region are to serve 4 year jail term each for flouting the ban on social gathering issued by the President of the Republic of Ghana Apostle Sampson Agakpe  with his assistant Pastor, Maxwell Dzogoedzikpe and church secretary, Samuel Agakpe on   April 12,  held Sunday Service and over 50 people were present. Prosecutor told the court that, the Police had information Apostle Agakpe, was having Sunday Service at the church premises at Tongor-Abui in the South Dayi District Assembly. The Police proceeded to the scene and met the Apostle Preaching to a congregation of over 50 “in flagrant disregard of the President of the Republic of Ghana’s imposed restrictions on public gathering including Religious activities in churches”.
