AWAL MOHAMMED CLEARED BY FIFA

Kumasi Asante Kotoko dependable defender Awal Mohammed has been declared a free player by Fifa.

Awal who left Saudi Arabian club Al-Shebab as a free agent  joined Moroccan side Raja Casablanca.
After one season with the club, Awal terminated his contract with the team.

The case went to Fifa and the player was given temporal ITC from Fifa to enable him play for Asante Kotoko.

After the long awaited verdict, Fifa has finally declared the player as free and has tasked Raja Casablanca to make a payment of $54000 and 5% interest per annum within 30days to the player.

In an interview with Kumasi based Nhyira Fm, Awal confirmed the story and expressed his excitement.

"I'm very very happy today that I've won the case. Not about the money but purposely for clearing me as free player."

"When the case was in court, I was always under pressure to know the outcome because Raja was finding everything possible to pay and be decleared as not guilty."

Meanwhile Awal's agent is not happy about the fine given to Raja Casablanca. He says he was expecting a huge amount plus compensation.

"I'm not happy, I don't understand the verdict. Let's wait for the reasons first."

"They can't say his chances that Raja blocked, like joining Arsenal Tula and staying at home should go waste. The $54000 is for the work done already."

"We have won but I'm not happy. I'm waiting for the reasons, if it comes and I'm not satisfied I will appeal."
